The One Cornwall website is now up and running at www.onecornwall.cornwall.gov. uk “Anyone can click onto the website and find out about the changes happening to local Government in Cornwall” said Councillor David Whalley, Chair of the Implementation Executive, he continued: “From April 2009 the services currently received from the District, Borough and County Councils will be delivered by a new single council, a unified council for Cornwall. The purpose of the website is to provide open and honest information about the transition and what this change means to everyone”. Included on the website is information for residents, staff, Councillors and Town and Parish Councils. Annie Moore, One Cornwall Communications and Marketing explains: “We have divided the website up to make it easy to navigate. Residents can find information about things that affect them, initiatives like One Stop Shops. These are being introduced across the County to make it easier to get information, advice and guidance, and meet council staff and councillors face to face. There will be one in every town. Davinia Grist, One Cornwall Communications and Marketing added: “We are working in partnership with town and parish councils to provide better local services. The website is a useful tool for them and is updated regularly. This includes contact details for the liaison team, newsletters, parish plans and information on community ownership of assets and market and coastal town initiatives”.
