|Can anyone help? On 22nd August Eric Gower emailed as follows:
"I am interested in finding out more about relatives who lived in Lerryn in the 20th century. I have researched a much as I can online, but of course after 1911 things get rather sketchy.

I spent a few hours in Lerryn this week. Someone we met in the village suggested the website and having had a chance to look at it, I thought this was a useful suggestion. What I am looking for is any further information on James May, my great grandfather (bootmaker in the early 20th century), who lived near the arch, his children and step-children (James and Emmeline Collings) and their mother Ellen nee Swiggs.

I am not expecting anyone to do any research for me, but if there were anyone in the village either with a long memory or with documents that would help, I would be very grateful to be able to correspond..

I am intending to make a trip to Truro Record Office (from Southampton where I live) in the near future but it would be very good to go armed with as much infor as possible. Many thanks.

There are also some memories from R G Milford aka "Rozel" that appeared on the news page of this website - see 2nd August "Response to Portrait of Jack Barker"

I'm sure many other people, like me, find these little bits of local history fascinating. Can you add anything?

|Wow, what an absolute gem of a website. I visited Lerryn last Spring and was amazed at the sheer beauty of it. My family was called Bonney (James Hill) etc who used to live at Prinzey/Primsey and was also a blacksmith in the village in the late 1800's up to 1950's. If anyone has any pictures or information i would be most grateful to receive.

Thank you for sharing Lerryn with everyone.

|Hello,

My name is Duncan Hendry, I have been looking through your archive photographs as I lived and went to school in Lerryn in the 60s. I have come across a couple of old school photos that I am in and wondered where I can get a copy, the photos of the regatta really bought back some great memories and I would like to say thank you to the people responsible for putting these photos on the Lerryn website.

Many Thanks

Duncan

I at last went to the Lerryn website and looked at some of the photos. They are splendid and I had a few minutes of real enjoyment but particularly when I GOT TO THE RECENT PHOTOS and FOUND A LOVELY LAUGHING PHOTO OF David AND MYSELF AT THE CHARITY PARTY OF LYN AND ROB DRESSED as tramps etc. It left me laughing for quite a while. Thankyou
