Tidal Surge

JulieD 36 posts. Jul 8th 2011 15:47 Report Abuse The tidal surge that Tim saw in Lerryn affected the south coast of Cornwall, Devon, Dorset & Hampshire. It was a mini-tsunami that was caused by a sub-marine landslide (rather than an earthquake) and The British Geological Survey say there wasn't any seismic activity in the UK over the weekend. Reports from the University of Plymouth say that it is a rare occurrence but did affect a large stretch of coastline.
