Tuesday Club talk by Merryn Threadgould on her new Cornwall Memory Game
Tuesday 27th September 2022, 7:30pm to 9:00pm
Location: Lerryn Memorial Hall (Main hall)
In this fascinating and funny illustrated talk, Cornwall Memory Game creator, Merryn Threadgould, explains why she made a uniquely Cornish pairs game for children. All 60 pairs of pictures tell a Cornish story, many sadly forgotten, until now. In this talk for the Lerryn Tuesday Club, you’ll hear stories of historic Cornish women both dangerous and doughty, hear a Fishwife polka unplayed for 170 years, find out how a North Cornish festival spread out across the country and learn why one tiny village in South Cornwall helped make a scientific breakthrough aiding criminal detection around the world.
If you are interested in social history, love games and stories and are, perhaps, looking for an unusual Christmas present, come along on Tuesday 27th September to the Lerryn Memorial Hall for a memorable evening.
