10th Anniversary of new Lerryn Memorial Hall

Tea Party at Lerryn Memorial Hall on Saturday 5th June 2010

A sunny day, balloons and a superb selection of cakes attracted a good crowd to the Hall, where local groups and organisations each had a small exhibition of their activities on display. The occasion was to mark the completion of the re-built Lerryn Memorial Hall in the year 2000. In a short address, the current Chairman, David St John, paid tribute to the driving force of the late Francis Allfrey - who saw the new project through - and to past and current committee members for their hard work in managing and maintaining the Hall to such a high standard.

The diversity of information, artifacts and activities on display was amazing to behold - and a good demonstration of how well the Hall is used. There is no excuse for boredom in Lerryn! The many displays included the Art Group, the Parents & Toddlers, the History Group, the Lerryn Players, the Film Club, the village website, the Tuesday Club and Lerryn WI - not to forget the Snooker Club!  And this is not a comprehensive list of the activities on offer in Lerryn - please excuse the writer for any ommissions.
