HARVEST FESTIVAL AT BOCONNOC

Wednesday 12th October 2011

On Friday 14th October, Boconnoc will be celebrating the “harvest home” in the traditional way.

The Harvest Festival was invented in Cornwall in 1843 by the vicar of Morwenstow, Robert Stephen Hawker, and Boconnoc expects its Harvest Festival to be one that Parson Hawker would have been delighted with.

The church will be decorated with produce from the fields and gardens (which will be raffled later), there will be familiar hymns and chants, readings from the King James Bible, and of course pasties and wine afterwards.

Everybody is welcome at this joyous occasion – come along and join in!   We will start at 7.30pm
