Lerryn School Fair & Nativity Play

Lerryn School Christmas Activities

The school fair was held in Lerryn Memorial Hall on 11th December.  The Hall was packed and there were stalls containing all sorts of bargains as well as delicious cakes and refreshments. Father Christmas was in his backstage grotto and children lined up to meet him and/or to have their faces painted.  A good time was had by all and the princely sum of £970 raised for the school. In the evening, a quiz in the pub raised a further £117.

On Sunday 12th December, St Veep Church was equally packed. The children performed two plays - the infant performance was entitled "It's a Baby!" and the junior performance "Silent Night". Both were extremely well done and the congregation was entranced by the acting and singing and also enjoyed joining in with some of the Christmas carols. A collection was made and £141 sent to the charity "Crisis" to help homeless people at Christmas.

Fiona Corfield paid tribute to the legacy of David Vipond and also to all those who helped to make these activities so successful.  Congratulations to Fiona on the successful completion of her first term at Lerryn.
