Pete the Fish

There is good news and bad news about Peter.

Firstly, after a further operation, Peter's foot is now healing.  He is hoping to be back in Lerryn after Christmas.

Now the bad news:  Peter lives in Chapel Street in Mevagissey.  You will have heard on the news that this street was badly affected by the flooding.  Pete's house had 5 feet of water in it and he had to be rescued by four firemen.  He was carried out from the first floor of his house and into a boat.  He was then taken to an emergency centre.  The manager of Pizza Hut heard of the misfortune of the Mevagissey people and, at his own expense, brought them pizzas.  Peter is now in a holiday cottage but will soon be going into rented accommodation.  Shirley, his wife, is meeting with the insurance assessors, today, but Pete thinks it will be February, at least, before he will be back home.  All we can do is wish Shirley and Peter well and hope that they will be back in their own house as soon as possible.  Peter wishes to thank everyone for their messages and concern.

We understand that the National Press have been interviewing him so we may read more about his plight in due course!
