Remembrance

Tuesday 8th November 2011

This year, Remembrance takes on an added significance, as the traditional 2 minutes silence commences at 11 o'clock on Friday 11th November 2011.

To mark the occasion, Lerryn History Society, Lerryn Branch of the Royal British Legion, and the children of Lerryn School are co-ordinating a special service to honour the men who gave their lives in 2 World Wars, and whose names appear on the Rolls of Honour in Lerryn Memorial Hall.

Revs. John Halkes and Philip Conway will lead a short service which will take place in the Memorial Hall, and commence at about 10.50 a.m. Everyone is welcome to attend, and you are requested to assemble in the Memorial Hall from 10.30 a.m.onwards. After the service, light refreshments will be provided thanks to the generosity of the members of Lerryn W.I.

Following the service, there will be exhibitions in the Drill Hall and the Red Store to illustrate the history of the 2 World Wars, and these will continue on Saturday 12th November (11.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.) and Sunday 13th November (1.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m.)

Please give us your support on this special occasion.
