St Valentine's Day - with Men Cooking Dinner!

Thursday 21st January 2010

Men are invited to cook a Valentine dinner at Boconnoc on Feburary 12. Novice and improving cooks who want to raise their culinary game, and men who just want some fun cooking in company, will be working under the supervision of an expert to produce a slap-up meal for their friends and loved ones.

These “apprentice cooks” will be guided through the preparation of a special meal, with the menu set, and the shopping done, working under the guidance of an experienced restaurateur

And if couples or parties of friends just want a Valentine treat but don’t want to cook, they can just come along to enjoy a good meal in a convivial atmosphere.

The event is organised by Friends of Boconnoc Church. Everyone is welcome, and vegetarians will be catered for. Gill Forster will supervise the kitchen tyros. Gill and her husband Glen have run restaurants in California and Cornwall, so are well qualified for the task. The chefs will need to be available either on the afternoon of 12 Feb. or the afternoon of the previous day. Those not cooking are invited at 7 p.m. for 7.30 p.m.

The price will be £12.50 per head. Diners can bring their own wine, and will be given a list of wines appropriate to the dishes beforehand, so they can bring a bottle to complement the meal.
