The Maiden Bells of St. Veep

Tuesday 27th March 2018

The full peal rung by the Truro Guild at our celebratory weekend in December 2017 was the first one rung at St. Veep for over 30 years. It is therefore exciting to report that on the 7th March 2018 another full peal was successfully rung by the St. Blaise Society of Berkshire. It consisted of 5040 changes and took 2 hours 40 minutes.

Later in the month, a band of ringers from Hampshire on a ringing holiday came to ring our maiden bells.

We have had bookings from two other towers who wish to visit us later in the year,  so it seems that the refurbishment of our virgin bells has been well worthwhile.

During this time our local ringers have been practising every Thursday night as well as ringing for our 11 o’clock service and special occasions.
