Winners of the Lerryn & District Produce Association 69th Annual Show

LERRYN & DISTRICT

PRODUCE ASSOCIATION

IN ASSOCIATION WITH LERRYN WOMEN'S INSTITUTE

Local residents, children, and visitors turned out on Saturday to enjoy our 69th Annual Show - a big thank you to everyone for your support.  The sun shone, allowing everyone to enjoy authentic Cornish Cream Teas whilst listening to gentle music supplied by our local keyboard maestro Anne Fenwick.  We were extremely pleased that Dr Pattie Bowen was able to open the show this year.  Unfortunately, the cold spring weather and late frosts this year together with extremely hot weather over the last 10 weeks, posed big problems for exhibitors. Thankfully they managed to work miracles and provide some stunning exhibits.  Show entries in the Cookery and Children’s classes were sadly down this year, but the Flower classes were up on last year.  The major winners were as follows:

W.I. Cup for Most Points in Show:  Joint winners: Brian Philp/John Hancock

Association Cup for most points (Vegetable Classes):  Brian Philp

Collon Cup for most points (Fruit Classes):  John Hancock

Mrs A. Day Cup for most points (Decorative Classes):  Joan Harvey

Penfoye Cup for most points (Flower Classes):  Pat Bucknell

Polscoe Cup for most points (Cookery Classes):  Jenny Langmaid
