Re- William James 'Jim' Hollings - Can you Help ?!

February 17th 2009

We've had the following message at Lerryn.net and wonder if any of you can help.

Hi could anybody help with any information (however small) regarding a William James 'Jim' Hollings and his wife Cicely who ran the Old Forge Hotel in Lerryn.

I have become quite hooked on my family history. He was my grandfather (Cicely would have been his second wife).

Does anybody who still lives in Lerryn still remember him (he died in 1986) and have any photos possibly

Yours Hopefully Brian Hollings

If you can help please email Brian at brianne-marie@newboldcoles.fsnet.co.uk   or if would prefer to speak to him let us know at the office here info@lerryn.net 01208 871066 and we can pass your details onto Brian.

From Looe Police

February 3rd 2009

It has been reported to us that Bogus Callers are currently in the area of Liskeard.

These callers are calling on elderly people and claiming that they are behind with their electricity bills, obtaining money and giving written receipts.

One is described as white male, aged about 60 years, grey hair, medium build wearing a deerstalker hat with the flaps down.

Please remember to always keep the chain on the door and verify the caller's identity by phoning the Company in the Phone Book. If in doubt keep them out.
