This will no doubt make sense to those of  you who rush off in those rather large yacht things heading for Mevagissey....

HAZARD TO NAVIGATION IN THE FOWEY PILOTAGE DISTRICT

 

Fowey Harbour Commissioners (as the competent harbour authority for Fowey, Par and Charlestown) advise Mariners that mussel farming lines have been established under a Marine and Fisheries Agency consent in St. Austell Bay between:

 

50°18’.92N 04°44’.50W and 50°18’.70N 04°44’.50W

50°18’.92N 04°43’.80W and 50°18’.70N 04°43’.80W

 

The ends of the lines are marked with yellow spherical special marks with St.Andrew cross topmarks, exhibiting a yellow light Fl.Y.5 sec.

Mariners are advised to give the area a wide berth and to exercise caution when anchoring.
