Simon Weston's Visit

Roz McNarey (of Help for Heroes) with Simon Weston

Lerryn's very own puzzle author and publisher Charles Morgan has been in the news recently with the launch of Sudoku for Heroes at the DCLI Museum in Bodmin with Falkland's veteran Simon Weston OBE as guest of honour. This is the latest in the Sudoku Word Search series which Charles has been producing for the past two years in partnership with Bodmin-based IT specialist and web designer Kim Roscoe.

Sudoku for Heroes follows the same format as Charles and Kim’s two previous volumes, Cornish Sudoku and Holiday and Travel Sudoku, and it follows a military theme encompassing the three armed services and their history. It is specifically designed to raise funds for the increasingly popular services charity "Help for Heroes" and 35p from the sale of each puzzle book is being donated directly to the charity with which Charles and Kim’s company, M&R Puzzles, has signed a commercial participator agreement. As Simon says in his foreword "Sudoku for Heroes is a simple and effective way of giving help where it is needed. The money raised will be used to make life easier for those of our forces who need help the most and who probably wouldn't even ask for it." Simon also signed a number of copies at the launch.

Sudoku for Heroes is already on sale in Lerryn River Stores and from M&R Puzzles' own sales stand which is currently doing the rounds of various Christmas Fairs, and it will shortly be available in more local shops. However it should also be available in all good bookshops country-wide in the New Year, as well as in shops attached to military museums and is expected to raise significant funds for "Help for Heroes". To give this a boost Charles and Kim are planning a second, national launch with Simon in London in January.
