This message relates to Police Log 480 27 May 2010.

We would like to make you aware that we have received reports of males offering garden, driveway, patio and other various types of work using high pressure tactics.

They leaflet drop and cold call on residents often preying on the elderly and vulnerable, pressurising them into signing up for work. 

Please be reminded of the risks you are taking by employing a cold caller as the work may not be necessary in the first place, their quality of work may be poor, they may overcharge or change the price.  It is always advisable to have any work undertaken by a professional company recommended by neighbours and friends.

We would like information regarding these incidents on 08452 777 444 or 999 if you feel pressurised into having the work done. If possible please make a note of vehicles and descriptions.
